Bring your partner, get a group of friends together and join us for the biggest event of Pembroke’s 400th year to celebrate all things Pembroke: our research, our people, our treasures, our food, and much more!
On 29th June, Pembroke College officially turns 400 years old, and we’d love you to celebrate with us at our Pembroke 400 Festival. During the day you can expect talks and panel sessions with Pembrokians such as Professor Sir Chris Whitty (UK Chief Medical Officer) Jen Easterly (Director US Cyber Defense Agency) and Marianna Spring (BBC Correspondent) alongside Pembroke Fellows and students, discussing the most exciting research coming out of our community, from Samuel Johnson’s desk and religious conflicts to advances in medicine and the future of AI. In between all of this, you can also enjoy the fringe programme of events such as behind-the-scenes visits to the wine cellar and College archives, and short TED Talk style pitches from our students. Of course, lunch and refreshments will be provided – so there’s no need to leave College and miss out on anything.
The evening gala programme begins with a world premiere performance of a piece composed especially for the anniversary by renowned composer Tarik O’Regan. From there, you’ll enjoy a Pembroke feast like no other, 17th century music and dance (in honour of our foundation year) and a spectacular light show to wrap things up, before the festivities end around 10:30pm.
The best part of all this? You can design your own day and evening from our programme, so you can choose exactly which talks, which fringe events and which evening activities you want to go to!
Tickets are available for the entire event, or daytime and evening only. Group bookings are also available.
