Hon. Josh Gottheimer
Rep. Josh Gottheimer, Pembroke ’96, is an American attorney, writer, and public policy adviser who has served in the United States House of Representatives since 2017, representing New Jersey’s 5th congressional district .
Prior to serving in the US House of Representatives, Josh was a member of the Clinton Administration and served as an adviser to the presidential campaigns of Wesley Clark, John Kerry, and Hillary Clinton. He has also worked for Burson Cohn & Wolfe, the Federal Communications Commission, Ford Motor Company, and Microsoft
In Congress, Gottheimer serves on two Committees, including the House Financial Services Committee, where he is the Vice Chair of the National Security, International Development, and Monetary Policy Subcommittee and a member of the Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship, and Capital Markets Subcommittee. Josh also serves on the House Homeland Security Committee, where he is a member of the Intelligence and Counterterrorism Subcommittee and the Transportation and Maritime Security Subcommittee.
Josh completed his undergraduate work at the University of Pennsylvania. While at Penn, Josh received the Thouron Award, which enabled him to pursue a DPhil in modern history at Pembroke. After returning to the States, Josh earned his law degree from Harvard Law School.
Josh currently lives in Wyckoff, NJ with his wife, Marla, and their two children, Ellie and Ben.
