At Harvard’s Du Bois Institute, Dr. Stephen Tuck speaks to Pembrokians about Malcolm X at Pembroke.

In Cambridge, Massachusetts, on May 14, Dr. Stephen Tuck and Tom Herman, ’71, hosted a gathering of Boston-area Pembrokians over wine, cheese, and nostalgic conversation at Harvard’s W.E.B Du Bois Institute, where Dr. Tuck was Sheila Biddle Ford Foundation Fellow for the academic year 2011-2012.  Dr. Tuck provided a fascinating lecture on Malcolm X and Pembroke. He informs The North American Pembrokian that the BBC is considering producing a radio documentary on the subject.  Attendees included Joshua Bellin, ’01, Gregory Marecki, ’09, Jeff Phillips, ’03, Kate Caldwell Elwell, ’03, Evan Labuzetta, ’02, Ari Freisinger, ’06, Eric Haskell, ’00, Libby Mishkin, ’08, and Alan Benson, ‘05.  After a tour of the Du Bois Institute’s world-famous collection of African-American and American art, most in attendance adjourned to a delicious Indian meal in Harvard Square.
