Mid-term election day, November 8, was Victory Day for Pembrokians Josh Gottheimer ‘96 and Tim Griffin ‘90.
Josh Gotthermer

Josh, a Democrat representing New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional district in the U.S.
House of Representatives, convincingly defeated his Republican opponent with 54% of the vote in a “purple” constituency in a suburban and exurban district stretching north and west from New York City. Josh has been representing the N.J. Fifth since 2017. Josh is ranked the eighth most bipartisan member of the House by the non-partisan Richard Lugar Center and Georgetown University. He also serves as Democratic co-chair of the House bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus.
Josh is also a Trustee of the Pembroke College Foundation.
Tim_GriffinTim, a Republican, overwhelmingly defeated his Democratic opponent in the Arkansas Attorney General’s race with 68% of the statewide vote in the Razorback state. Tim is currently serving as Arkansas’ Lt Governor, an office to which he was elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2018, and an office once held by Pembrokian Winthrop Rockefeller ‘69.  From 2011-2015, Tim served in the U.S. House representing Arkansas’ Fifth Congressional district. From 2006 to 2007 Tim served as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas.

The Pembroke College Foundation – and Pembrokians everywhere – congratulate Josh and Tim for their electoral successes, and salutes them for carrying on with distinction Pembroke’s long tradition of public service.
